Biodiversity of the Var coast

The salt marshes of Hyères are two wetland sites that stretch on the peninsula of Giens. They offer a beautiful landscape to discover, but most of all they house more than 200 bird species and 300 Mediterranean plant varieties. All year round, guided tours are organised to observe the birds and the flora, but also to learn more about the century long salt works of the region.
